"Errata" is Michael Donaghy's second book of poems, following "Shibboleth" (OUP, 1988), which was winner of the Whitbread Poetry Category Award and of the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Award. This is the first new collection of poems from D. J. Enright since "Instant Chronicles" in 1985. Peering into the nooks and crannies of circumstance, the poet and proser take notice of domestic affairs and foreign exchanges, divine mistakes and human embarrassments, quirks and quiddities, accidents and designs, fashions and fantasies, double lives and single deaths, the dust-heap of history, and the devil walking up and down. As entertaining and disturbing as ever, D. J. Enright continues to comment with sympathy and irony on humanity.

Selected Poems / Christopher Logue. - Londyn; Boston : faber and faber, 1996. - 145 s. ; 20 cm.
Słowo kluczowe: poetry ; English poetry
Selected Poems gives the reader, for the first time, a proper idea of Christopher Logue's lyrical gifts, as well as his irrepressible outspokenness and sense of artistic adventure. It contains fine poems which have been out of print for too long and others now regarded as classics.

Intimate Chronicles / Christopher Middleton. - Manchester : Carcanet, 1996. - 94 s. ; 22 cm.
Słowo kluczowe: English literature ; English poetry
In the first part of this work, against a background of destruction in history and of history, glowing figures move. The second section contains poems about various art works as durable epiphanies. Poems in the third section work around figures that signify resistance, in large ways and small, to destruction, and endurance through it. Various historical periods are sighted or glimpsed through a lens and in a shifting perspective, those of a person now captive, now free. Each section centres on transformation and metamorphosis, Middleton's perennial theme.

Truffle Beds / Katherine Pierpoint. - Londyn; Boston : faber and faber, 1995. - 55 s. ; 20 cm.
Słowo kluczowe: poetry ; English poetry
The wealth of sense-impressions in Katherine Pierpoint's poems, the panache with which she musters them and the music thereby generated would be noteworthy in any volume, but they are all the more so in this first collection. 'Truffle Beds' signals the arrival of a mature and truly original voice. Pierpoint has opened up her own geographical and emotional territory, and her eye for both outer and inner worlds is acute and sympathetic.

Lucy's Letters and Loving / James Berry. - Londyn : New Beacon Books, 1982. - 56 s. ; 22 cm.
Berry's poetry is notable for using a mixture of standard English and Jamaican Patois. Berry's writing often "explores the relationship between black and white communities and in particular, the excitement and tensions in the evolving relationship of the Caribbean immigrants with Britain and British society from the 1940s onwards". As the editor of two seminal anthologies, Bluefoot Traveller (1976) and News for Babylon (1984), he has been in the forefront of championing West Indian/British writing.

The Canterbury Tales / Geofrey Chaucer. - Londyn : Penguin, [1996]. - 342 s. ; 18 cm.
(Penguin Popular Classics)
"The Canterbury Tales", compiled in the late fourteenth century, is an incisive portrait, infused with Chaucer's wry wit and vibrant, poetical languauge. He evokes a spectrum of colourful characters, from the bawdy Wife of Bath to the gallant Knight, the fastidious Prioress and the burly, drunken Miller. As they wend their way from Southwark to Canterbury, tales are told to pass the time, and the stories are as diverse as the narrators, encompassing themes such as adultery, revenge, courtly love, lechery, avarice and penitence. As humorous today as when it was written over six centuries ago, "The Canterbury Tales" remains one of the most popular and enjoyable of the classic works of literature.
